IFCO donates €30,000 to Support Food Banks During Fruit Logistica 2015

Bundesverband Deutsche Tafel and Berliner Tafel receive
donations at world’s largest fruit and vegetable industry fair
IFCO SYSTEMS, the leading global provider of reusable packaging
solutions, has donated €30,000 to support the Bundesverband
Deutsche Tafel e.V. and Berliner Tafel. The company presented food
bank representatives with the donation at the 2015 Fruit Logistica
as part of the company’s Worldwide Responsibility program, through
which it has donated over 150.000 RPC (Reusable Plastic Containers)
and co-financed 43 refrigerated vehicles for more than 70 food
banks around the world.
IFCO encouraged fair attendees to also support the food banks by
hosting a lottery where participants could win attractive prizes,
then matched the funds raised and presented the entire amount to
food bank representatives. Wolfgang Orgeldinger, CEO of IFCO
SYSTEMS said, “IFCO believes strongly in the importance of food
banks here in Germany and around the world. We are pleased to
continue our support of their good work in providing fresh, healthy
food to the needy.”
Jochen Brühl, Chairman of the Bundesverband Deutsche Tafel e.V.,
and Sabine Werth, chairwoman of Berliner Tafel e.V., accepted the
donation on behalf of their organizations. Brühl said, "We
sincerely thank IFCO SYSTEMS for their continued commitment to the
food banks. Their support helps make possible the provision of food
to 1.5 Million people in need throughout Germany.”
Werth said, “'I am very grateful for the long lasting support
from IFCO. The green reusable plastic containers and sponsorship of
refrigerated vans are a perfect help in mastering the daily tasks
of Berliner Tafel.”
