The following table lists unplanned and planned production
outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The
information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining
sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.
A fire that broke out at around 6:15 p.m. PDT on Aug 6 at
Chevron Corp.'s (CVX) crude distillation unit No. 4 is out and the
unit is shut. The company declined to comment on the status of
operations at other parts of the plant.
PBF Energy said equipment malfunction on Aug. 6 at its Delaware
City refinery in Delaware caused an emissions release of sulfur
dioxide. No further information was provided in the filing to
environmental regulators.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) on Aug. 6 said its Benicia, Calif.,
refinery FCCU is on track to reach normal rate by mid-August. The
unit began the process of restarting on Aug. 6; it was shut on July
26 for unplanned repair to an associated compressor.
BP PLC (BP) on Aug. 2 reported a planned flare event not
associated with equipment breakdown at its Carson refinery in
Calif. Flaring could begin on Aug. 4 and continue through Aug. 20,
a filing to regulators said.
A diesel hydrotreater at HollyFrontier Corp's (HEP) Tulsa East
refinery in Oklahoma was shut on Aug. 2 after an early morning
fire. The company is in the process of assessing the damage and
impact to operations. The Tulsa West facility was not affected by
the fire, a spokeswoman said.
