LONDON--Crest Nicholson Holdings PLC (CRST.LN) said Tuesday it is appointing Robert Allen as its group finance director to replace Patrick Bergin, who took over the role of chief operating officer.

Mr. Allen joins the company from British American Tobacco PLC (BATS.LN), where he most recently was the regional finance controller for the Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions, Crest said.

Shares at 1500 GMT up 3.50 pence, or 0.7%, at 507 pence valuing the company at GBP1.29 billion.
